OK here is the skin dig,

Daina was released from ICU yesterday, switched rooms twice and will be coming home friday.. she does not know it yet but alot of her friends sent her cards and gifts, she will be so happy when she gets home, give it a week and she will be miserable again when she realizes she has many weeks to go before the jumping and running in circles can begin again. I truly want to say THANK YOU!!! to everyone, us halloween folk really do have a big heart after all.. She is a very lucky young lady and proud i am in her life ...She makes me laugh even after the worst day.

        So very sorry

We are so sorry to hear about this. We have daughters ourselves and seeing them in any hospital setting is very scary. I want you to know our prayers like many others on here are with you.

          Jason,

Do you mind giving us an update on Daina and letting us know how all of you are holding up? I'm still thinking about all of you.

            Thank you !

Thank you all for your concern. I wanted to update on my daughter. Daina went to the Drs. and Thankfully she is recovering wonderfully. She can be her regular self now she is allowed to run and jump and swim now, she can't play any contact sports (like football) yet ,she is getting there. Valerie has been able to sleep without constantly getting up every 1/2 hr. or so to check on Daina. She is such a great mom. I am so thankful daina is healing well and that the worry and stress has calmed , here.

            Thanks again.

              jason,

I haven't been on the boards at all and just saw this thread today - so sorry to hear what happened, but so glad to see how far she has come in recovery - praying for a continued recovery...

Awesome great news, sounds like shes on the road to recovery. You guys are worn out, I know... Don't forget to take care of yourselves as well. Sometimes its easy to forget about eating and sleeping when your whole world is at risk.

The resiliency of children is incredible, somehow their minds say get up and play even when their hurting.

Glad to hear the update and that Daina is doing better!

Scareshack i wrote that with good reason. I was also hit by a moving car when i was 8 years old. Driver had gotten out and supposedley set the parking brake, the car rolled down a hill and pinned me against a tree.

My left leg was crushed so badly they removed a lot of muscle and doctors told my parents i would never walk again. Ha! Dad would have none of that, he took me to a specialist that created a brace to help my left over muscles redevelop.

The doctor said the only chance it might work is if i wen't through rigorous painful daily pushing by my parents to get up and walk. So five times a day they would make me put on the brace and get up and try.

35 years later i am still haulin ass doing anything in life my heart desires. I haven't once ever said "No i can't do that because my leg won't allow me".

                        Love to ski even !

Had i not been a child i probably would have given up, i just remember watching the kids out the window and wanting to go ride my bike with them.

I just saw your sock mask DVD announcment and was instantly thinking i have got to learn that next!

And as far as my past story, Dad always said that Hard Knocks in life builds character. I must have taken a boat load of Hard Knocks because im quite a few characters.
