In Mexico city you'd spend less for unions but more on bottled water!

          Or maybe "Bottled Unions"?
" You the head of this union?
Here's a little something in this envelope for you, keep the lid on it."
Unlike wine keeping the union members bottled up for too long doesnot make for an improved beverage.

Being in both the tradeshow industry AND the haunt industry, personally I'd like to see T.W. come to New Orleans. The labor rate is substatially lower than Vegas, the climates perfect, the location is pretty central so shipping costs are pretty equal for all exhibitors, (with the rising fuel costs, shipping across town is still painful no matter where you're at) and there are PLENTY of after show activities that are of interest to this particular group of attendees & exhibitors alike. Any suggestions on who to contact to make something like TransWorld 2010 New Orleans happen?

I could begin building my raft right now for the New Orleans trip. The creek out my back door dumps into the Miss. river ten miles away and there I go!
Paddling back upstream would be the problem.

Sounds like Vegas has one hooked! "Look at all them light bulbs! All in one place!"
You just broke little Transworld's heart by saying that.
A merely 25 year old trade show from Chicago doesn't know many people in Vegas yet, except for her pimp!
Life can be tough out there!
Maybe next year she will be ready and you two could hook up and you could bring her back home to Wisconsin?

IF I do go back, I will fly in the day before, see everything Fri-Sunday and fly out Monday. I will also make sure to leave my nights open for some shows seeing how there is no CROWNE to hang at......

I doubt I’ll go back next year. I got my taste of Vegas this year and that’s enough for me for quite a while. The Amazing Johnathan was great, but I’m still recovering from the cost of high-priced meals and cab rides. I’ll be going to MHC this year and that’s probably where I’ll continue to go if Transworld doesn’t return to the Midwest. I agree. Without the "Crowne Experience", it just isn't the same.

I do firmly believe that Transworld may just have saved its Halloween show. It would not have survived the dates and location it had planned and they know it. The few people moaning about it leaving Chicago are the ones that drive there and would have been very much alone in January. I love how people continue to say Vegas has too many distractions for the show. Since when has too many choices for entertainment been a bad thing. What's bad is when you go to Chicago and there is not a damn thing to do but sit in your hotel's bar because there is nothing to do within 30 miles.

We went to the show and did what we went to do. We made purchases and were on the show floor 3 days solid and did not leave until we were done. Not only that we saw several Vegas shows and stayed a little longer to enjoy the city.

                          I'm in the minority

I know I'm in the minority here, but I love Vegas. Had a great time and looking forward to going back. Chicago in January, I think I may have had to think hard about that one, but probably still would have gone, not at all disappointed in the move.

The common theme, whether you liked Vegas or not, is there's no Crowne! Come on folks this is a problem we can solve! Let's pick a casino/bar name it the Vegas Crowne, and promote it all year till Transworld. If people know all year where the central gathering place is, they'll be there.

So let's have some suggestions! Where is the Vegas Crowne?

                            Well for me....

I mean it was not the money yeah it was kinda high but myself I can afford it. But is it me or is it just not the same? I mean it just felt different and the floor always seemed dead. I will go back but this time I will look for fun things to do to keep it intersting for me. Shane Graystone

From the bars I visited in Vegas, the main problem is they are just SO frickin crowded. TRy to get 200 haunters in there on top of the "normal" people is darn near impossible........

The majority of Haunted Attractions and Haunt Vendors are in the Midwest and the East Coast. The few? LOL. No, whether TW is in Chicago or not isn’t the issue. They need to have the show closer to Industry vendors and their customers. That way the vendors won’t have to ship their products all the way across the country, as well as pay over-inflated prices for booths and ridiculous union fees that nickel and dime them to death.

Actually, I’ve been told by MANY vendors that the lack of other activities in Chicago has worked in their favor. Since people don’t have much to do in Chicago, vendors congregate at the Crowne. As a result, they’ve made valuable connections and done more business than ever before. Have you ever heard of businessmen doing business on the golf course? The same thing applies for the “Crowne” in Chicago. In Vegas, there were so many activities/distractions that such gatherings were just not possible.

Prior to the last Transworld Vegas show, people tried to decide on the same thing on this message board, but there were just too many activities available in Vegas and it never happened, because everyone just went their own way. Besides, as xxxdirk said, with the clientele they already have, most Vegas bars are already too crowded, without Haunter attendance. Good luck finding a “Crowne” in Vegas. LOL
