Viva Haunt Vegas!! Good news from Las Vegas, new home of TransWorld 2008!
As many of you know there was a site inspection of the Sands Expo center for vendors. Major vendors toured the facility, went over procedures and met with officials from the Sands, TW and Freeman (the company that will handle the move in and out) It was well received and informative. TW is committed to making this move painless, working with the vendors to improve and grow the show. It is a very exciting time indeed!

Being that this is our home town, we too are proud to show off our city and all it has to offer! To that end we are pleased to announce “Viva Haunt Vegas” activities created for TW 2008!

Some of you remember our Viva Haunt Vegas tour at TW Vegas in 2001 operated by Randy Grigg of Haunted Enterprises and Rich Strelak of R&J Productions. Randy and Rich are local competitors during Halloween but joined forces to produce the tour. While the Vegas show was only a fraction of the Chicago show, over 200 haunters attended this successful event. There was eating, drinking, partying and …oh yes a haunt tour! With the popularity of the haunt tours at TW the last few years, we felt obligated show what our city can offer…. Hey it IS Vegas!!!

Details are being worked out but there is a lot to look forward to. The tour will include transportation, food (southwest fair), alcohol (beer, wine, margaritas...which explains the transportation!), soft drinks, two or three attractions in full operation, a lights on tour, special guests and entertainment (sorry no topless ghouls!)

While Vegas has a lot of entertainment choices we are putting together special “haunt” related activities. There is actually a Vampire themed Vegas show called Bite!, Madame Tussaud’s Vegas opened “Monsters Alive” section last year, the Star Trek Experience added Borg Invasion 4D and for all us “techies” they now offer a backstage tour. While back east they have walking ghost tours, even Las Vegas has a ghost tour! We will have group ticket rates available.

A major concern is that we do not loose the “Crowne Experience” a place where the haunters can congregate, visit, eat, and swap stories and experiences. Not to worry! A suitable gathering location will be designated and announced. And the best feature will be NO LAST CALL!!!

A web site will be on line soon with all the details. Rouges Hollow will be creating a site at VegasHauntTour.com that will list activities, sponsors and up to date info. This is just the tip of the iceberg, we will keep you informed as details develop. Viva Haunt Vegas 2008!!

Hauntworld.com will sponsor this tour for sure!!! I've talked to Randy and he's stated it will be UNLIMITED food and alchohol. He's talking about full blown dinner and everything else.

Everyone who comes will get a free goodie bag and hauntworld magazine, not to mention T-Shirts.

Rogues Hollow will be the official web designer for the website and sponsor of the event. He will be working on a site. I know the site will be www.vegashaunttour.com

    More info to come!!!

    This is exciting news!

I'm glad to hear that haunt owners in Vegas have come together, to work together on behalf of the haunt industry. The people who LIVE in Vegas will produce the tour and hopefully they will show us all a GREAT TIME!

    I'm booked!!!!

One more thing... from my understanding the ticket for this event will ONLY BE $50.00 which will include DINNER, DRINKS, BUS RIDE, and tours through 4 haunted houses, guest speakers, door prizes and much more.

Does everyone think thats a deal of a price, to much to little what.

While haunters want a haunt tour we realize that this IS Vegas and people want to see things they can’t see at home. While you might want to see a Cirque show, a head liner or a typical topless show, we do have a few shows that are somewhat “haunt” related (like a third cousin!!!)

Here’s a couple links to whet your appetite:
            Bite! http://www.stratospherehotel.com/bite.html#
            Madame Trussauds- http://www.mtvegas.com/
            Star Trek Experience- http://www.startrekexp.com/
            Ghost Tour- http://www.hauntedvegastours.com/index_2.htm

The big advantage we have here is location. At TW Chicago we were actually in Rosemont. To go to Chicago entailed a 45 min to 1 hour trip. In Vegas, the shows will be either walking distance, a short cab ride. So many times you really wouldn’t want someone arranging transportation. What if you want to stay and play the tables? You might just get a hot machine and they announce your bus is leaving!!!
So we’ll concentrate and getting you group ticket deals and passing the savings on to you instead of having to deal with covering our costs.

Since TW has put the show on the weekday this will save you the higher weekend rates. Consider using this as a vacation time as well. Stay the rest of the week and enjoy was Vegas has to offer!

If anyone has questions, let us know.

Plan now, play later, it’s Vegas!!!

$50 for all of that does sound too good to be true! That's a great deal! You aren't selling yourselves short with at that price, are you? At any rate, it sounds like the whole tour will be tons of fun!

If we're trying to make a profit we're screwed!!! We're just trying to cover expenses, so the more involvement we have with sponsors etc, the more we will have to offer!!! Prices are of course subject to change, just like the bus company will give me an estimate, but won't lock in what it will cost next year, especially if gas is $4.00 a gal (bite my tongue!!!)

We had a blast the last tour we did and people still talk about it so that's our goal... have a GREAT time!!

We'll keep everyone informed as things progress! ANy comments or suggestions just let us know!!

Would that "Hello My Children" show be little kids doing "Hello Dolly"?
Or would it be something to do with the old soap opera "All My Children?"

I can't believe they never showed you that short-cut to Chicago from Rosemont!

Well $50 does sound almost too good to be true. If ya'll can keep this price form here on out, I predict that we might actually have more people than this years tour had!!

While the “Bite” show has a certain T&A appeal and the Ghost Tour seems interesting, the “Madame Trussauds” event and the “Star Trek Experience” aren’t even remotely haunt-related. What I (and many others, I am sure) are wondering about is how many Haunt-related events will be at TW 2008. What Haunts will we be able to tour? Please, tell me more about them!

Personally, if I want to gamble or see “Vegas-style” shows, I’ll arrange a separate vacation for that. For Transworld 2008, I want to see Haunt Tours!!!

Actually at Transworld in Chicago, I doubt anyone even ventured into the city. They all stayed in the general vicinity of the convention and were only interested in attending haunt-related events, which there were plenty of. The MAIN local Haunted event at the last Transworld was Dream Reapers Haunted House ( http://www.dreamreapers.com ), which was only 15 minutes from the convention center. What haunt tours will we have to look forward to for Transworld 2008? Will they be comparable in quality to Dream Reapers? And how far will they be from the convention center? Please advise, as the actual amount of Haunt-related entertainment will weigh heavily on whether or not I attend Transworld in 2008.
                      Happy Haunting,

                        Adam,
                        You state:
“Madame Trussauds” event and the “Star Trek Experience” aren’t even remotely haunt-related.

Any Haunt owner knows the benefit of seeing other entertainment styles and venues. Trussauds has a monster's section; Trek has some pretty evolved special effects where they affect the entire audience. This type of information is VERY valuable to a Haunt owner/operator.

Being that you are not an owner I understand why you want to see haunts. But while it may be fun to tour a haunt, it is usually of little value to the owner. I toured Rocky Point and had a great time. I do not feature movie themed scares. I am in trailers not a warehouse. I don't go there to "get room ideas". The best I can hope for is small things like details in a certain room, how the patrons were moved through the attraction, how the actors reacted to the audience, how well they suspended reality and immersed me into their world..... wait....

The same things could be said about visiting Star Trek!!

We learn by going to movies, we learn by going totally unrelated productions. It is only the haunt enthusiasts that get overly excited about the actual haunts (while some owners especially new ones can be enthusiasts too!) the owners are more impressed that there is food and drink so they can socialize which is another great form of learning!

You state "Personally, if I want to gamble or see “Vegas-style” shows, I’ll arrange a separate vacation for that."
And well you might, but you WILL be in a minority. People are coming to Vegas! They WILL do Vegas, even if it is one show or a couple hours gambling, trust me they WILL do Vegas. We spend thousands of dollars gathers statistic that prove it. Billion dollar casinos did not spring up from people who go to conventions and only stay at the convention!

You are right is that no one ventured into the city. You really can't do much sight seeing in March at night! Again...we're in Vegas!! You have to walk right past the gambling to go to the bathroom! You will have several entertainment opportunities right in your own hotel!

As we have stated, there are NO permanet haunts in Vegas. We will arrange for several trailer haunts to be set up in configuration so they may be operated. Which haunts we will determine prior to the tour and of course people will be notified.

People will have a good time, they had a blast at our last tour!

IF you only go to TW for haunt tours then you're going for the wrong reasons. Haunt tours only sprung up over the last couple years. It is an added feature, NOT a main event. If people were not planning on "doing Vegas" then Transworld would have moved the show to Omaha (no offense it's actually nice there)

We look forward to everyone coming out and having a great time!!
