Well... unofficially anyway. I was going through some of our web stats from last season... and myspace dropped off the face of the earth... We didn't put as much into it as facebook, of course... but is myspace officially dead to you? Or do you get out of it what you put into it?

As a "myspace-age" user when it came out, it was all the rage...then that sneaky mark zuckerberg came along with facebook and eradicated myspace in all it's glory!

I just don't waste my time with it, no one uses it, and Facebook is much better designed for networking, I would strongly suggest using mainly Facebook and Twitter as social networking to the public, in addition to your own website. I would even go so far as to invest in a Facebook ad so anyone who searches haunted houses in your area will start to see your haunt on the side of EVERY page they click on.

They've just done a layoff, again, and News Corps' COO during the earnings call said they are ready to sell it to a new potential buyer. Here is a article to read about it for those interested, http://mashable.com/2011/02/02/news-...lling-myspace/
I would recommend to haunters the same I recommend my clients, focus on Facebook and FourSquare for promoting their venues on social networks. MySpace is dead.News and event coverage from directly inside the Haunt Industry - http://www.hauntersdigest.com

I deleted my 2 accounts months ago. I kept on getting a bunch of friend requests from half naked women and garage bands. I feel facebook is much better for networking and keeping in touch with friends and fans of my haunt. I admit myspace was fun and easy to use about 5 years ago but it just lost it's touch.~Bill Mlinac

I'd have to say it's dead also. I used to be very active on there for myself and with my haunt. But now, it just seems that people have moved on and forgotten about myspace.
Time to focus on facebook and foursquare now.

Not even in our top 100...
Myspace this past year wasn't even in our web site's top 100 analytics referral sites. It probably didn't help that we didn't put much into it. I didn't completely delete our myspace page... but I have just posted a link to our web site and our facebook account. I wouldn't want someone random coming around and starting a LOTF myspace page. Afterall... myspace still ranks high on google.
