We got to visit with Eureka yesterday. The Vet made a special trip in for us to see her. She was still unable to do anything more than lift her head, but she immediately responded to us by purring very loudly! We gave her about 20 minutes of love and then Tina, our Vet, had to head out so we had to leave. Tina called us a bit ago to tell us that she believes our visit really helped and Eureka is moving around much more now, but still very unstable and still not eating on her own. She believes Eureka is just having a slow recovery from all the seizures and the surgery, as well as from her insulin and glucose levels trying to adjust. She's going to call us a little later today and she's thinking about removing the i.v. and letting us bring her home to see if she'll do better in familiar surroundings. We assured her we can feed her with the syringe and look after her. I'll post another update when I have more to share. Thanks again for all your positive thoughts, energy and prayers for Eureka!

Just a quick update on Eureka. She's home now and slowly recovering, but we're still having to feed her through a syringe. Unfortunately, the test on the tumor came back positive for cancer and now we're waiting for the Vet to get back to us on her recommendations. She's consulting with specialists and she mentioned chemo-therapy as a possible option. Unfortunately, we just don't have the budget for this type of treatment and we're taking it a day at a time to see how Eureka is going to do. We're hoping the cancer hadn't spread any further than the tumor and by removing it, the cancer was also removed. Eureka's still wobbly on her feet, but at least she's making an effort to walk around the living room. I think she's just glad to be home. We really appreciate your concern for her.

On another note, thanks to all who have placed orders for my Haunt books and materials this season. 100% of the proceeds are going toward Eureka's Vet bills, so the orders are greatly appreciated!

I hope my entire haunt family will be headed into the rest of the Holiday Season enjoying an abundance of blessings! Thanks again for all your kind words of support, positive thoughts and energy, prayers, etc.!

I'm very excited to report that Eureka is doing incredibly well now! She's back to eating on her own and she's even jumping up on the bed and the couch. She's acting like her old self again! She had blood work taken again early this week and the Vet has reported back that her tests all look normal and good! Her glucose levels are perfect now! She's had her stitches removed and she's growing back her fur from all the spots she was shaved for IV's, injections and surgery. Of course it'll take a while to grow completely back, but she appears to be feeling healthy again. We're trusting that, when the tumor on her pancreas was removed, all the cancer was removed with the tumor. Thanks again for all the positive thoughts, prayers and energy! My Christmas gift has already arrived!
