Just in case anyone cares. These rates are very good and I took Shane's advice and booked through PriceLine.. My rooms are confirmed and we are good. I think the reason the rates are so good is because the hotel is in receivership.. I think this means the hotel is up for sale and is hurting because of either the economy or competition. Either way good for haunters!!

Are y'all *absolutely* sure you can cancel with 24 hours' notice?

I'm not sure that I'll be able to get off work. We have "Antique Week" during
that time and the motel where I work will be swamped. I'll be extremely lucky
to find someone to work for me.

TW hotel reservations

I have to agree...I cancelled my "higher priced booking" and took my chance. Offered priceline 40 night...they countered with 15 more...so for under 60 a night I'm getting the SAME CATEGORY room that Ild just confirmned for !39.00 night. That's really fun. I'm SURE now that Keith Korner is gonna come knocking on my door asking in. Poor Keith. I do have a really special surprise for him. (possibly even an award, hint hint). He's worked so hard to earn this....

I am STILL so bummed Karl and the Pirates of Emerson won't be here this year. First miss in 12 years! And he always had the largest number of single male pirates in tow that I could cavort with. Now what am I going to plunder?? I guess we shall see :O

Yeah, it worked for me. It ended up being $71.06 a night with the taxes and fees added. I'll be at Transworld early Saturday morning and will be leaving Sunday Afternoon. So this trip is going to be pretty reasonable now. It'll be around $50 to drive up to St.Louis too. With the food, hotel, and gas it's going to be under $200. Thanks Shane!
