Mike, I have some experience with CCTV. What are you looking to cover, how many cams, budget, camera distance from hub, do you need day, day/night IR cams?

Throw out some more specifics and I'll throw out some details.

Can't recommend anything from experience but i was looking for the same thing a few weeks ago and radio shack offers a ton of different models and options for reasonable prices. I plan on going with just a simple black and white with audio for my project.

Worst advice ever - buying system from SuperCircuits.

I spent most of my summer talking to just about every employee in the allegedly "award winning" customer service department only to grow increasingly and maddeningly outraged by their lack of support or concern.
If any of you are thinking about getting a video surveillance system I highly recommend it -- it greatly reduced the amount of incidents and bad behavior at our haunt, and also provides a great record of activity in the haunt (also helps with any potential lawsuits or liability issues)

But if you're thinking of dealing with supercircuits - I say don't do it. Based on my experiences, I personally believe that they are easily the worst company I have ever had the misfortunate to get into business with. I spent countless hours on the phone and quite a bit of $$ to get my system (which is under warranty) repaired -- and really only got it after essentially e-mailing, calling, and screaming at everyone and anyone who answered the phone.

They literally held my system hostage for weeks because they were - quote - "rennovating part of their building"

My favorite part of their customer support? Their complete and utter inability to call me --- they also insist that I call them back. And you can forget about e-mailing.

But, as long as you don't deal with SuperCircuits - I think a system is always a good idea. We'll be upgrading our system this year to further enhance our ability to track everything going on. It's a great way to monitor your through-put as well, because you can spot the bottle-necks long before they create issues elswhere

It seems to happen a lot here, when a question is brought up automaticaly people run to the search engines, there is one person in particular that does it all the time, he's an up an coming haunter with a big budget.

Infact I did post those links to help Chirs out. Just a quick little bit of searching to help him get some ideas. IDEAS is the key word. Im forcing him to buy anything from those websites but if you look at those sites he can find all sorts of different options to LOOK IN TO! I didn't do it so everyone could give me a pat on the back. Hey brandon,
I'm looking for a system of about 20 or so cameras, nothing too high end just enough to get a good quality picture in low light areas and a few high quality ones for the outside, which would be day and night cams.
At the moment I'm not sure how far away the hub would be so that's up in the air
