    Questions are good

The questions are fine. He jumped out and yelled at them. He jumped when they were beside him. And then he quickly got back to his hidden spot. Don't have your scarer be out in the open too long because the guests get comfortable and it isn't as scary. Have them jump out, scare them, and then get back into position.

And you said in the light thread that your night lasts 4 hours? How did he keep screaming that long? Did you have lots of hot drinks for him?

That's one thing I've heard from a lot of people. 1 second is almost too long for the people to see your actor--since they can at least get a basic idea of what "Attacked" them. I know that 5 seconds is way too long because people may start swinging or kicking if you stay in their face that long.

        its amazing

It is amazing how good of throats my actors have. They can scream and make noises like crazy and it doesn't phase them. But also candy is a GREAT incentive. We take a break and get food and drinks. But my scarers love doing this and when you love scaring people you don't notice your sore throat until the next day. haha

Stilts are probably the easiest. But your actor has to be aware of whats around them if its their first year stilt walking. I have had people try to kick my stilts from under me. It took me about a week of straight using it about an hour every evening to get moderatly good at it. So in the summer your actor has off from school (If they go to school) have them practice whenever they get the chance.

I may end up being the actor doing the stilts since I won't be able to provide insurance (for obvious reasons) and wouldn't want the chance of getting shut down before I barely get started. Where did you buy your stilts?

What would you consider a good brand for stilts? Also, what type of stilts would you recommend: the jumping stilts, or walking stilts?

Depends on your character. Jumping stilts are fun, but can get hard to control. Wouldnt advise it unless your on all pavement and have lots of room to stop. Especially for a beginner (no offense) but if you insist on getting the jump stilts i suggest practicing NOW. You can do cool things, i can backflip over a car with mine. If you get jumping stilts get poweriser, or Powerizer, or Powerskips. http://getjumpingstilts.com/
For normal stilts heres a website.

Your choice my friend. Personally the jumping stilts look great and add a lot of dimension to a character and it will make your haunt memorable but i would practice a LOT more with those. Practice stopping suddenly, and jumping suddenly (you might have to leap over someone, i had to in the past, guy walked right infront of me and it was to soon to stop)

I'll probably get a set of both now. That way, I can start getting the feeling of it. I really want to beat out other haunts around here and show DFW (a jerk who thinks I'm an idiot for wanting to start a haunted house) that I was right and he was wrong. If I ever figure out who he (or she) really is, then it will be a long night in He** for them 'cause I'll scare and scare and scare until I can't scare them any more.

So it should be safe to buy them from ebay?

Well becareful. A lot of people get used to one or the other and have the in ability to use the other pair once they ahve gotten used to it. Hahahaha Thats what my brother did. He has the inability to use the jump stilts. Now WEAR A HELMET! I dont want you dieing. Because then i would feel like crap.

I'll definitely have on a helmet when using the jumping stilts. I don't think I could get in them without knowing how to use them and convince myself it was safe to not wear a helmet. I'm a freak when it comes to not dying. Then again, aren't most humans? XD

Heck, if I die, I'll just scare act for a while as a ghost.

You mean just scare? Because if your a ghost i doubt much acting is required to freak someone out.
