Biggest Snake bones discovered

It is interisting to know that a snake of that size existed. I do not like snakes, but they have their place.

It also might confirm that snakes once ruled this planet.
The monkey people had a tough time of it because their vision was not evolved quite well enough to see the reptile , camoflauged, laying in wait.
Improved diet is thought to have aided the ocular evolution giving primates the advantage of picking out the enemy earlier thereby providing options for flight or fight.
Once the Monkey people invented the four-lane and the semi snakie's days were definately numbered.
In the 1850's northwestern Illinois was very heavilly populated by snakes. As late as the 1950's what is now The Palasades State Park was lousey with rattlesnakes. That land was given to the state for a park but before the public could use it they set hogs loose there for a few years.
A hog grabs the snake, the hog fat protects the hog from bites as another hog grabs the other end of the reptile and the two yank it apart and slurp up their half of the spaghetti noodle!

Now the park rangers check three dens where all the snakes winter and check their population.

I saw that yesterday... can you imagine running across that thing like EVER? Things haven't changed much when you consider an Anaconda still eat Crocs and get to be 30 feet long. They are still scary as anything.

I guess this confirms King Kong and the fight with the snake... LOL

They named it after the river near where they found the bones. The bones were taken to Florida and that was where someone realised what they were looking at.

Jim's two theorys on prehistoric skulls 1) Skulls are rounded, they roll away.
2) Skulls were trouphys, taken back to the home planet.

You know, just a "Boys Weekender adventure...80 million years ago, maybe the archeologists should be searching for those ancient interplanetary beer cans instead?
