    Ok Guys..

First XXXDirk,Jason and everyone Thanks for understanding my cause espically you Jason because your a Vendor. I want to make 1 quick point I ordered from ScareParts in Febury of 2007 like everyone my Haunt is open in October NOT November or December. Also I paid for my items in full end of April. I ONLY CAME HERE IN FEBUARY just shy of a year because I had no other choice I had already tried everything else and Larry did offer a Vendor Issues section. Now you make the judgement what would you do? Lastly on this Larry just who are the vendors who wont be selling to me. Are they vendors who take money and dont ship products on time? Are they vendors who lie? Are they vendors who send out 85% of their products and forget about the remaining 15%? Are they vendors who after they have your money turn their back on you? Are they vendors who only wont to be in this industry for a short time because they want to makea fast dishonest buck? If so, then Larry they have noting to worry about because I will not be buying from them anyway. Also let me add and I could be wrong but I think Larry does get huge discounts not because he is as much wealthy as its a perk you get, Myself I assure you I can match Larry dollar for dollar because I am a hard working person who owns and runs a honest company. But its not the point of how rich you are or poor you are. (Although XXXDirk I do so Thank You for your support and understand where your coming from) But the point is no matter if its 50 dollars or 50,000 dollars if you payed for it and asked for it by a certin time and did not get it on time or at all then you were lied to and ripped. Now back to Berry and MidWest I am so sure that all your hard work is going to pay off Berry with an awsome show! And my hats off to you and your hard work. Guys lets get back to Berry and his show and post your thoughts on his show. Shane Graystone

    A couple of quick points:

    1. MHC did NOT stipulate that anyone had to be cash and carry only.

    2. Why does almost every thread in here turn into this topic??

    Jason,

I'm not saying delivering 85% of what you promised is good enough...

I'm not saying that Scareparts isn't wrong... I'm simply saying give a guy a chance to fix the problems, and do it on a professional way. Try all avenues first... maybe all avenues where tried and this was the only way. Okay but... 5 zillion posts, threats and more c'mon. Its too far!

We need to work on resolving problems not making them worse. That is what I'm saying. Larry

I hear what you are saying ,and i feel bad for scareparts , but if you dont come through with your promise and product then how are people to believe in you???? The fact is scareparts are ohio boys just like me and ohio is all about haunting. So were does the trust begin after being screwed???? and most of all the people still waiting on product since 2007. To me this is a very sour thing to swallow , i personally have nothing against keith and he is truly a nice guy, but to say they delievered 85% of there orders is bullshit !!! lets say you only recieve 85% of your haunts money would you be happy??? I think its safe to say you would not be happy. at this point i think the question should be, how can the haunted house community accept scareparts with confidence.. and i truly believe they will find a way to make everyone happy again !!! scareparts is a very good thing for this industry, however angry customers are the worst and not to be fucked with!!!!!

These are just my thoughts and i am most definetly not perfect!!!

    Dirk,

I don't disagree with you...its hard to do business with people who don't call you back. Seems that is a common complaint about a great deal of vendors.

I think the problem here is most of these vendors are ONE MAN SHOWS...

There are 2000 plus haunted houses, and a vendor running a one man show, its just impossible to call everyone back. What it really comes down to is this... hire an office manager or don't grow! Period!

It takes money to make money... get you someone to answer the phone or just don't grow its really that simple.

Our company has one full time salesperson, one office manager, and one part time person who does things like that, all to do handle all the calls, complaints, you name it. I can't answer every call myself!

    But I agree with you!

For what is is worth, Yes I think Shane went overboad with his slamming. however, I can understand his frustration in being a small haunt and getting ripped off $5000.00 That would piss me off too. Larry, I dont think you understand what $5000 means to some of us smalll fries. At least I wonder cause you keep bragging how you spend a LOT more than that on your haunt. For many haunts, $5000 is a LOT of money, perhaps equivalent to you getting ripped off $50,000. From what I have read, Shane has been promised OVER and OVER a refund or product from Keith, and he has not been taken care of, so yeah, I can understand his anger.

On a side note, after hearing from Shane, I contacted Keith, willing to possibly place an order with him and give him the benifit of doubt. After I emailed him and waiting 3 weeks for a reply, he emailed me back saying to call his cell. I did +left 2-3 messages on his voice mail, and after another 2-3 weeks he called me. You know what, my spidy senses were tingling and I figure that if he is that busy or unorganized, I can not really trust his business.....

In case you didn't hear... Scareparts has announced they will NO LONGER display at MHC. I don't blame them either. For one they have to be cash and carry only, which again I understand MHC is thinking about the buyers, based on all these attacks on message boards.

And secondly because of all the slamming going on against them. I think some of it might have been warranted but overall I think every professional line has been crossed here.

You must remember Scareparts did in fact deliver 85% or so of all orders... he took to many orders and couldn't fill them. Yes, indeed he let you down, he took your money, and didn't deliver, he got in over his head. Does that mean we should say 'float down the river' and just endless tirades about a guy? From my understanding he's already settled EVERYTHING but maybe a couple situations and he's working on fixing them ALL!

This has gone way to far if you ask me.

I think some vendors might look at some of the postings and choose not to sell to those people. I've already talked to vendors who said they will refuse to sell Shane anything. Whether that is right or wrong is beside the point. I do think and so no one slams me here... YOU SHOULD GET YOUR PRODUCT or your money back 110%.

I think there is an avenue to do that when you have a problem... heck if they advertise in my magazine TELL ME! I'll get on their case...

I doubt ANY VENDOR would ever want to go through this nightmare!

In the future lets try other ways to resolve these issues!

I will say that frustration can get the best of you, and you can't take them to task and post on message boards. But it should be a last resort, try all other avenues to work these things out.

FOR YEARS I HAVE been getting emails from people telling me about their problems with a vendor... I've passed EVERY email onto those vendors, EVERY SINGLE ONE!

You subscribe to my magazine, they advertise in our magazine, I will help you if I can, as long as we don't see another mess like this.

The last thing we want is to not have Scareparts or any vendor bring new product to shows, and be part of the haunted community!

Scareparts has apologized and tried to fix their problems.

Lets give him a chance to make his word good! In the meantime, lets talk about our haunts and stop focusing on all the negative stuff.

I'm sorry to hear Scareparts won't be attending MHC, but there is always next year!

    Larry

    Saw them at EHC

I visited their booth at EHC last weekend. Actually a decent bunch ofr guys. Although I had similar reactions to yours it didn't really bother me until I saw young teens wearing their shirts. Says "Got maggots?" on the front which is pretty cool but the F'd up logo\name is on the back. They do make an attempt at making some of the letters not so easy to read so you really have to get up close to know what it says. They did have nice products and my kids weren't with me so It was okay with me. Then again I bought a Kim's Krypt t-shirt (right next store to f'd up stuff at EHC) for my 4 year old. To each his own. I'd buy their products but wouldn't allow their name to be anywhere my customers could pick up on it.

I want an autopsied baby, I have such a sweet idea for its use in my lab, I did a baby in a jar and got more than one or two "that is just two much" comments. I am of the mind if it makes you uneasy I did my job. Of course it's a fine line I have to walk to do what I imagine and still keep it in the PG13 range for our haunt. We have caught flack before from the local churches just because we are a haunt, and sometime I have to be reigned in by the other guys or I would have us doing human sacrafice but all and all I usually find away to get my demented way.

    Not a great name

I agree with Larry and Barry on this one. I know that certain people go for shock value but I think they are shooting themselves in the foot with a name like that. If you know anything at all about marketing you would not use a name like that no matter what business you are into.

I have kids as well and there is no way in the world a catalog with that name would be in my house...nooo way.

As far as the vendor setting up at MHC, it's not like MHC is a department store who made the decision to sell the "Fuck'd up Stuff" line of clothing. It's a tradeshow. Their job is to bring in vendors who have nice things to sell, regardless of what the business is called. I don't think it makes MHC look bad at all. If they have good stuff, I'd buy from them. They got balls, that's for sure. AND! If they don't sell a lot of horror props, they could probably sell that domain name for a few pennies! Credit where due.

    Anti-Smoking Ads

Speaking of marketing principles... Anyone see the anti-smoking ads where this smartass guy goes around doing stupid things in an attempt to thwart the tobacco companies? Their campaign is called "whudafxup". Not quite as blatant as "Fuck'd up Stuff", but i was still floored that they were allowed to take a phrase that would TOTALLY not be allowed on TV and change spelling, abbreviate, and all of a sudden it's okay.
