With those guys at the helm it will probably wreak of mediocrity.

I think Dougherty is a good director/writer--I loved Trick 'r Treat.

Wasn't Trick R Treat considered a commercial failure and even pushed back time and again before finally releasing??

I never remember hearing anything about it being a commercial failure. I think it did pretty well critic-wise actually, especially for a straight-to-dvd flick. From what I remember from an interview, the only reason it got delayed and eventually went straight-to-DVD was because the studio thought it was too risky of a movie. It wasn't a bunch of teens getting slaughtered... so basically to them, it wasn't gonna make money. It was a different kinda horror flick. That's the problem with the movie industry.

Loved trick R treat. Loved how they toyed the sounds in the back ground so you have to watch several times to figure each stories timeline in the movies. Took a while for us to figure out the scream from the tv. Going straight to DVD is often more profitable then going to the movies. Would hope Krampus would be as cool!!!
