What we did was I would start brushing a 4x8 panel with the glue paint mix. Then as I got about halfway down the panel, my wife starting painting over the glue with paint.
The paint and glue dry at separate rates causing it to spread. We then clear coated the heck out of it. The results were amazing. And it was for an outdoor attraction, and held up for a few seasons.
