  • Scariest room or scare tactic in a Haunted House

What do you think is the scariest room in a haunted house? Most favorite?

  • #2
    no doubt scariest

You are in a real 1880 house.
They tell you to lay down on a bed.
    The bed tips.
    The headboard slams upward.
    You disappear downward.
You wake up in an underground room with a high stone arch ceiling.
A hideous face is almost nose to nose with you
But of course it's all just a dream, fantasy, there is no such place..

    ..but if there was!

Yes, it is just a dream. But the scariest thing about it is that I had that exact dream last night... BEFORE I ever read your post!

Being a home haunter, aspiring pro, and a huge haunt fan, I'm pretty desensitized to being "scared" in haunted houses... However, I find rooms which have large objects that appear as if they're falling on me still get my blood pumping momentarily. Such as the wall of barrels at The Darkness that look like they're falling down to crush you, or the falling spike wall at Erebus. That kind of thing triggers some kind of instinctual desire to dodge, duck, and jump for cover. It enacts the survival instinct.
