  • DVD Player Trigger addition

We are adding several different video based scares into our haunt this year and we are needing to make a DVD player activate on a motion or IR. We have one that we obtained by buying a package deal but now we need to make a couple more. Anyone have any plans on how to do this with an inexpensive DVD or DVP. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Personally I would convert your DVD videos to a digital file and use a digital video repeater. This will be the most stable and long lasting solution. We would be happy to assist you in converting your files and putting them on player for you.

Open up the DVD player and remove the play button solder a wire to each side of the switch and hook any trigger you want to the other ends.

Thanks for the advice. I thought swapping the play switch would be the easiest fix. Never done this before so it should be fun!

        Thanks

I use Viewstream 300 units for triggered video. They have worked great for us.

I have also converted to ViewStream and BrightSign units. That said, I have 3 DVD players already converted with play and stop jacks. You can connect step mat's, hand triggers, controllers, relays, etc to them. Basically any contact closure. 2 were never used, 1 has a season of use on it. I could likely be persuaded to let them go pretty cheap.

Thanks all for the info and advice. I just want everyone to know that I used a SONY DVD player as Sysasi suggested and a few item from radio shack and they work great.

                Thanks,

                    I'd recommend BrightSign's units: http://www.brightsign.biz/products/hd410.php

I also found these dvd players: http://www.division-6.com/products/d...gger-input.php

The nice thing, besides the trigger input is that the units have no screensaver and no (play/pause) messages that appear as the unit is used.

I know this is kind of an old thread, but I found these dvd players and they seem to be the cheapest.

Does anyone have any opinions on this vendor?

                        Thanks,

                          Dvd

I bought 2 of these from Hi-Rez. I got them right away and I am sure they will work fine.

Seems like I've seen Hauntedprops.com as having good repor, but not sure. They've got them on sale for $129. Cheapest I've found.

                              Another option...

We offer a triggerable digital video player with 7 triggers on it. Also plays MP3.
