I may be a bit biased because its a dance movie but this movie was seriously visceral.
Not for the faint of heart, this is no pretty ballerina dance movie. This is a true to the bone psyco-thriller. I for one enjoyed it completely...i'll never watch it with the lights off again, but I loved it and can't wait to buy it.
Natalie Portman takes deranged to a whole new level as a ballerina descending into madness as her psyce is shattered by an over bearing mother who rivals mommie dearest, a dance instructor helping her to find a darker side of herself, a bat s**t suicidal and crazy wynonna ryder, and a rival ballerina played by Mila Kunis who has motives we never really understand.
Filmed in the gritty art film style Black Swan melds broken dreams with twisted realitys.
