  • Video game art books?

For any of you gamers out there, are there any books or magazine on the market that shows a game frame by frame with detailed pics of the artwork? So many games have amazing art work that would be great for use in a haunt but things move so quick in agame and for me they're too tough to play these days.

Anyone know of anything that has detailed shots of the games?

    Thanks,

    DA

Most of the collectors editions will contain some sort of artbook with them...Whether its the detail you want or not is a diff question...Bioshock 2 has a fantastic artbook that came with the collectors edition. Also check Collectors editions of strategy guides some of those will contain art sketches. I didnt think working at Gamestop would ever pay off on this board...looks like I was wrong. I also have a copy of the art book from Bioshock 2. The other thing they did that I havent seen anyone else do is they included posters that change under blacklight.

I'm a huge fan of art books and collect then when I can. Strategy guides not so much. The last guide I bought was final fantasy 4 and I ended up cutting it apart just to keep what I wanted and tossed the rest. The bioshock book is very much a nice grab at $45 - $55. A nice tidbit to know about art books, if its some thing you know your going to want buy it when it first comes out. When books first come out they almost always have a promotion to go along with it and its normally a very good deal. Like right now I have already secured my American McGee's Alice art book and it doesn't even come out till May.

          Thanks a lot!

This is definitely what I'm looking for, that Bioshock 2 book looks like it has great reference pics. So all major games have these and they're sold through Gamestop? I'll start looking into them Thanks again you both!

Gaming stores keep limited supply of books so you might want to call before you go. You have better luck trying half.com or amazon.

There are quite a few really nice Resident Evil books I have seen...although that one has crossed into film as well...lots of really neat imagery.
