Care and storage of 3D panels

The problem with rolling up painted canvas is that you will get creases and cracks in the artwork; which will start to effect the 3D effect.

I personally would go with fire retarded canvas. The canvas can be bought from home depot. then just roll it up and out it away

I've seen NUMEROUS haunts do their artwork on luan, then just attach that to plywood backed wall panels! Seems to work well!

Also, ever think of that "styro fabric" type material used for shipping? Just a thought. -Tyler

I have seen haunts do thier artwork on fabric and then roll it out over the room walls or hallways.

We are getting to work on some 3D panels for next year. But before we do I want to figure out how to properly store them between seasons. We obviously can't just stack them like a plain black panel. I don't want to have to do major retouchups on every panel just because of sloppy handling.

Someone suggested placing sheets of cardboard between stacked panels but the sheer weight seems like it might still cause some damage when stacking and unstacking, plus the cardboard might absorb moisture and spread it to the panels.

I have thought about doing the paintings on luan and attaching those to regular panels. They would be thinner so we could store them inside my house and carefully stand them up so they wouldn't scrape against each other. Canvas was another suggestion someone came up with. Attach them to regular panels for sturdiness and then carefully roll them up at the end of the season. Any thoughts?
