Quick College Update...

Hey guys,
Just as a quick update... I came home from Chicago to some really good news. I found out on Monday that I was assigned lead make-up for NKU's production of "The Aaronsville Woman", taking place during our annual YES Festival!

I am really excited... They have told me the following:

-Lead actress needs burn scars on her hands
-Must be able to wear gloves that will be RIPPED off during performance
-Scars must 3D or have "texture"
-Must NOT be flammable due too scene where actress burns a letter.


So yeah, this will be really fun! I will try to take pictures of the process and post them to share!

Tyler that is FAB news! Congratulations, Honey!! Make sure you take plenty of pictures of all angles and if you can, while you're putting on the makeup. This will look good in your portfolio.

Just some suggestions as im a make up nut!!

On your glass peice, stipple a few layers of liquid latex around the appliance this will hide the edges and makes it look like the skin tore back when the glass hit the subject. Use a few different types of blood, Blood Gel is a darker color and thicker consistancy, put a fine line of that along the glass edge and use a lighter colored blood such as FX to blend it outward.

As far as the 3-d burn i would go with the usual latex, cotton burn it is pretty tough when complete (hence the glove ripping schene) but another really cool effect that would look great is Mehrons 3-d gel over the top of it for that melted skin look and when dry it is very durable!

Just some thoughts, let me know if i can answer any more questions for you. And congrads Tyler, sounds like some doors are opening for you and from what weve seen from you here probably many more will open down the road!
