  • Raycliff Website Blog Question

Hello my Haunt Sisters and Brothers!

I need to figure out how to add a blog on the actual Raycliff website that I can manually update and edit and have it link directly to my social network sites (Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, etc.), without being an expert in HTML and other codes. If you find or know of anything like this, please let me know! Thanks!!!

Check out Wordpress. You should be able to install it next to your website and it can do everything you ask.

        Blog info

I just added a blog to my website. My website host had it set up for me to very easily add a wordpress blog. I was able to get a subdomain at no extra charge. The blog is totally free.

Wordpress had only a couple different templates that came with the initial down load but they can be fully customized. If you dont like any of them you can do a search and find many other templates online for wordpress. All that I seen can be customized as well.

But the template features are quite basic, at least the ones I saw. The cool thing with wordpress is that there are so many tutorials on how to add features. You can also find "plug ins" online as well that for the most part are easy to add to your blog. The "plug ins" are features that allow you to have email subscribers, track online users, google analitics, allow comments on your blog, let your blog support an avatar for each user. There are tons of things that you can add if you got the time to figure it out.

When you see how basic it is at first, look at other blogs to see all the features you can add. Very cool setup. I just got started with mine and I like it so far.

If you decide to go with wordpress, Id be happy to answer anymore questions you may have. Im not saying Im a pro at it but I was able to figure quite a bit of it out. I was happy as heck when I figured out how to add my wepage background to my blog. I dont know of a plugin for it so I had to change the html around a bit.

Thanks for your replies! Movie Relics, I PM'd you back.

I did log into my site through Godaddy and I found that I had credits for a free blog. I went ahead and made the effort to set it up. You can view it here:

            http://blog.raycliffmanor.com/

Please forgive the messy code showing on the page. I'm not exactly sure why it appears. I see why it's free. LOL You can only choose from templates, so it doesn't really look like the Raycliff website. Also, I couldn't find any way to connect it to the website. Also, I couldn't find any way to link it to the social network sites. I'm looking for quotes to do the following:

Provide me with a cost to add a blog to our site that can be modified to look like the other website pages. Also, when I add a new message to the blog, I would like it to automatically post a title with a link to the blog on Myspace, Facebook and Twitter. Does this make sense? At any rate, please let me know if this is something you are capable of doing and please provide a quote for doing so. You can email me at info@raycliffmanor.com with quotes. Thanks again imax, Kelly and MovieRelic for your replies!
