Doggie Names...anyone?

Ok, not haunt related, but this forum is full of creative people and I need opinions and ideas... plus it's something fun and out of the norm (I've noticed things have been heating up lately on here! yikes!)...

My husband and I are going to buy a West Highland Terrier (Westie) male puppy this Spring/Summer. We are having issues over the name.

I want to call it "Tootie" after my recently deceased great-uncle Sal, who we lovingly called Uncle Tootie.

My husband wants to call him "Mr. McFeely" after the creepy delivery man from the beloved PBS children's series' Mr. Rodger's Neighboorhood. :?

I said we should comprimise and call him "Mr. Tootie McFeely"... but my husband isn't buying it. :lol:

Any names out there other than these could you come up with that would be clever and cute? If so, list them here (I know Mr. Tuxedo is already taken).

Good morning, all.

What a terribly pleasant surprise!! Being avid West Highland White Terrier partners (you never actually own one, rather, it merely chooses to live with you) and show-ers, likely because of our part-time proximity to the West Highlands, we have generally found that some variant of the dog's pedigree name works quite well. The breeder is responsible for setting the animal's pedigree name, which is usually quite overblown and rather self-important sounding, but most breeders actually put a great deal of thought into the names as duplicating existing pedigree names is strictly disallowed.

One unasked-for but humbly offered tip:

When you go to pick out your puppy, bring a bottle of nail polish in a bizarre colour and a felt tip marker with you. As competition amongst the buyers will be keenly focused on the pick of the litter, it is best to mark your dog so as to help ensure you will actually be taking the right dog home with you. We always colour at least one toenail and put some sort of identifying mark inside the ear flap with the marker. The dog will look INCREDIBLY different between the time you first view it at 1 or 2 weeks old and the time you pick it up at 8 weeks old.

Westies are wonderully charming, highly intelligent, adorably cute, and unbelievably stubborn dogs. They also tend to have highly developed personalities, which vary greatly from animal to animal. If you might require any advice relative to what we think you should look for in a Westie puppy, please do not hesitate to enquire. Our champion Westie, "Bailey" (aka: Bold Snow Lad), is not only the mascot for Bailey & Me, Ltd, but has actually been featured in numerous commercial promotions, including the cover and centrefold of a prominent canine magazine. With careful, proper breeding, and involved partners, there is no reason why your new puppy could not achieve equal if not greater "glory".

It is always very amusing when I talk to those tourists driving from a huge metropolitian area who will find just driving down these rural highways and through these quiet small towns a terrifying experience!?
"The roads are so dark out here!"
"Yes, but look up, you can actually see the stars!"
"Some furry animal ran out in front of us and scared us to death as we were driving!"
"How tall was it?"
"About 2 feet !"
"Then it wasn't "Big-Foot" or a "Yeti", it was just a raccoon or a possum, or if you were very unlucky, a skunk."
I had one patron of mine really play this urban-rural difference and by the time they pulled up infront of my house none of the newbees that he drug out here would even get out of the car!
Sometimes as these people would drive into this little downtown, they might only see me, they look around this 1880 architecture up and down these streets and feel as if they are in a Hollywood movie set or maybe an old "Twilight Zone" episode, then they suffer-through this strange house and scary "Jim" and then they would sometimes ask me if I owned this whole town?
If I did, there might be a plastic-all-weather bubble over these three city blocks and it would be an entire community dedicated to this kind or art and entertainment!!
Then we'd be having fun!!
Mannequins in every second floor window, animatronics, of course, special lighting, ex cetra, ex cetra.......
...and then as they look down the street, up on the next hill at the end of this street rests 6,500 bodies, it's the city graveyard! All the ancestors watching us as we walk around. (I believe they planned it this way!)
The 90 foot cliff wraps around the downtown, keeping any attacking forces at bay, "Hey, we poor small-town Zombies need some tactical advantage from the outside world, you know!"
It's a haunted theme-town just waiting to happen! (I've been doing my part of it for 18 years!)

In reverse order,

2) Think a smaller version of Mount Olympus sticking up out of 300 miles square of nothing but corn fields with 3 city blocks on top of it. The back of the Raven's Grin Inn is very much like any end scene showing the establishment in a Dusk till Dawn movies, complete with years of abandoned vehicles thrown over the cliff. Two mounds atop the mountain and one is the town, the other the graveyard looking at each other. The town center is protected by civil war vintage Parot guns, cannons that are totally worthless as they have never been attacked by parrots.

1a) Mostly tourists that never returned home, hence the apprehension with taking a tour at Raven's Grin Inn knowing there is a human sized tube from the second floor to far beneath the earths surface.

1b) People in that part of Illinois breed like rabbits.

1c) People are just dieing to be there.

1d) There was this war 140 years ago and at least 5 wars and conflicts since then that Illinoisians went to participate in.

1e) Indian curse.

1f) Two words, alligator farm.

Mount Carrol, Ilinois has been around since about 1835. Up until these last ten years it's population was always around 2,500, but in more recent times it has dwindled to 1,700.
The most noise in this town at night sometimes eminates from the coyote's vocal chords as they attempt to serenade the rabbits into foolishly runing away from thier love song, right into the teeth of the rest of the coyote family hiding, waitng for such a thing to happen.
I can't begin to count the number of various species of birds and wildlife living in the little woods and the canyon behind this house!
Since the big hog farm at the edge of town shut down, those magical waste product fumes are gone, so people looking at my house at night no longer hallucinate quite as much, imagining it's so much more than it actually is.

If your dog has a habit of biting the heads off of chickens, you could name hin "Yorba the Geek" ("Yorba" since "Zorba" is already taken and we all know what a "geek" is now don't we?
